Nanny Daily Log & Emergency Info Sheet

A nanny daily log and an emergency info sheet are two pages a caregiver needs: a daily log that tells the parents how the day went, and an emergency sheet that says who to call, in what order. This free printable has both, filled in first with a fictional example family so you can see how a finished page reads, then blank copies to print and fill in by hand. Keep it at the front of a nanny binder or on the fridge, and hand a copy to every backup sitter.

What it does

  • Gives your caregiver one row per child per day for meals, nap start and end, potty or diapers, activities, and mood with a note for the parents.
  • Puts the emergency call-down list on one page: call 911 first, then the parents, a nearby relative, a neighbor with a key, the pediatrician, Poison Control and urgent care, in order.
  • Keeps each child's allergies beside what the parents want done about them, on the same page as the phone numbers.
  • Opens on a worked example — 12 daily-log rows and an 8-entry call-down list for a fictional household — so you see a finished page before you write your own.
  • Includes blank copies of both pages to print as often as you need; nothing to install and nothing saved anywhere.

When you also pay the person writing the log

A daily log says how the day went. It cannot say what you owe for the week. The full kit turns your caregiver's logged days into each workweek's pay — guaranteed hours paid when the family cancels, overtime past your weekly threshold (40 by default) for a live-out caregiver, figured on a weighted regular rate when two rates apply, PTO balances, and mileage and receipts kept apart from wages — and rolls every household employee into quarter-by-quarter wage totals and a year-end records packet for your payroll service or preparer. A 14-tab workbook for Excel & Google Sheets, 12 printable binder pages and a 16-page guide.

A file you buy once: no payroll subscription and no app account. It keeps records and computes wages owed from your own rates; it computes no tax.

Not advice: a record-keeping sheet for a family, not medical, legal, tax or payroll advice. In an emergency, call 911. The example household is fictional. Free to use and to share as-is; please don't resell it.
