Job Search Tracker Starter
A job search spreads across a dozen job boards, a few versions of your resume and an inbox you stop trusting by week three. This free starter tracker puts every application on one row: the company, the role, where you found it, which resume you sent, the posted salary range, the date and where it stands now. It counts how many days each application has been out, and a summary counts every row, saved jobs included, by status and by job board, so you can see where the search stands without scrolling. It opens on 10 example applications and 2 saved jobs from an invented search so you can see a filled-in log before you type over it.

What it does
- Gives every application one row: company, role, source or job board, resume version, date applied, status, salary range and notes.
- Works out how many days each application has been out, counted from the date at the top — which defaults to today.
- Counts every row by status (saved jobs included) and by job board in a small summary that updates as you type.
- Keeps status and source consistent with dropdowns — the common job boards, referrals, recruiters and an Other option — so the counts never split one board across two spellings.
- Ships pre-filled with 12 example rows adapted from the paid workbook's own fictional search, so nothing opens blank. Every employer and person in it is invented.
- Opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice — no macros, no signup, and nothing saved anywhere but your own copy.

When you need the sheet to tell you who to follow up with
This tracker records where each application stands. The full Job Search Tool tells you what to do about it: every application computes its own next follow-up date from its stage and is flagged Overdue, Due this week or Ghosted, and a Today tab ranks everything that needs you onto one list. It runs the funnel by job board and by resume version — replies, reply rate, interviews, offers and median days to a reply — so you can see which source and which resume actually work. Add interview rounds with prep and thank-you tracking, contacts with a next-touch date, a 26-week log against your own weekly targets, and an offer comparison that totals each package and scores the factors you weight. An 11-tab workbook for Excel and Google Sheets, with a Start Here guide, a Job Search Playbook and printables.
A file you buy once: no app account and no subscription. Your applications and contacts stay in your own spreadsheet.
Not advice: this tracker records what you enter and counts it. It is not career, legal or financial advice, and it is not a record of any agency's work-search requirement. The example search is fictional — every employer and person is invented. Free to use; please don't resell or redistribute.
