Manhwa & Manhua Caught-Up Starter

The Manhwa & Manhua Caught-Up Starter is a free single-tab reading tracker — one spreadsheet that holds three chapter numbers per series instead of one: Raw Latest, what has published in Korean or Chinese; Eng Latest, what official English has reached; and where you are. From those it computes Readable Left, the chapters you can open tonight, and Untranslated, the chapters that exist in the original with no official English release yet — two completely different kinds of behind that one chapter number cannot tell apart. Then it names where you stand: caught up to the raws, behind English, or at the translation wall, meaning every official English chapter read and the raws still ahead of it.

What it does

  • One row per series: the title, where you read it, and the three chapter numbers — raw, official English, and yours.
  • Computes Readable Left (English minus your place) and Untranslated (raw minus English) — two numbers that answer completely different questions.
  • Gives every series a verdict: caught up to raws, at the translation wall, behind English — or add numbers, whenever any one of the three is still blank.
  • Totals both figures across your whole list and counts the series stuck at the translation wall — a count a single-number reading list has nowhere to put.
  • Comes pre-filled with eight fictional example series, so it opens on a worked example instead of an empty grid.
  • Before you type: clear only the light-orange cells you type in — never whole rows, because the calculated columns sit between them.
  • Forty formula-ready rows; to track more than forty series, copy the last row's formulas down before you type into the new ones.
  • Opens in Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice — no macros, no signup, nothing saved anywhere but your own file.

Want to know whether the wait is getting shorter?

One tab here; nine there. This free starter holds the three numbers, totals what's readable and what's untranslated across your whole roster, and tells you where every series stands — the full Manhwa / Manhua Tracker does the rest of the arithmetic. A Translation Gap tab ranks your whole list by how much story is published and untranslated, lists the series where English is losing ground, and ranks what you could finish tonight shortest-first. Gap Trend compares the two release rates and gives you the week English draws level — or says plainly that it never will. A Hiatus Watch counts the days since the last update date you logged and bands the answer, so a series that quietly ended stops looking like one on a season break. Novel Origin works out how fast an adaptation is spending its source novel and how much runway is left. Nine connected tabs for Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice, with a one-click Google Sheets copy.

A one-time purchase you keep — the owned workbook between a blank spreadsheet and a rented reading app.

A personal reading log, not purchasing advice. It fetches nothing — you type the three numbers when you notice them. The example catalog is fictional and illustrative: every series title, note, chapter count and platform assignment was invented to show the tool in use, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any platform, publisher, or creator. Free to use; please don't resell or redistribute.
