Home maintenance is easy to skip, and not because anyone is careless. It is invisible: the jobs arrive on schedules that line up with each other about as well as they line up with the rest of your life, and for most houses the only reminder is the failure itself. This is one page that fixes that — the 40 recurring jobs almost every home has on a monthly or seasonal cycle, grouped by season and named by month, with a tick box beside each seasonal job and a strip along the bottom for the six that come round every month. What it does
- Sorts 34 seasonal maintenance jobs into four season panels, grouped by month inside each season — so it tells you what is due now rather than what is due this quarter.
- Leaves out every job that is tied to a system only some homes have, so there is very little to cross out: no septic tank, no well, no irrigation, no fireplace, no sump pump.
- Marks who does each one — a filled dot means book a trade, an open circle means take extra care (a ladder, gas, water under pressure), and everything else is an ordinary homeowner job.
- Puts the six that come round every month in a strip along the bottom, out of the seasons where they would otherwise be repeated twelve times.
- Prints the quarterly and twice-yearly jobs in every month they fall in, so a month panel is the whole answer to "what is due now" — not a duplicate.
- Is undated on purpose: write the year in the corner, and print a fresh one next year. Nothing to renew, nothing to lapse.
