Free Iftar Hosting Night Sheet

Hosting an iftar during Ramadan often comes with a group chat, three people saying they'll bring something, and the risk of finding out at the table that nobody brought dessert. This free sheet puts the whole evening on one page: each guest family and how many people they're bringing, the head count, the menu course by course, who is bringing what, your household's own timings, and a course check you run before you shop. It includes a filled-in example for a fictional household, so you can see how much is worth writing down. A blank copy follows, ready to print.

What it does

  • Lists every guest family, how many people each is bringing, the course they've offered and whether they've confirmed, so the head count comes from names rather than a guess.
  • Gives you one line to write the total: your household plus your guests equals the number of people at the table.
  • Sets out the menu by course (starter, main, side, dessert, drinks), with who is covering each one: you, or which guest family and what dish.
  • Includes a course check, so you see before you shop that a course nobody is bringing is still open. In the example, dessert is.
  • Leaves the timings to you: when guests arrive, when you eat, and who's on dishes afterward. It sets no times and gives no religious rulings.
  • Shows one evening filled in for the fictional household from the Ramadan & Eid Household Planner (5 at home plus 12 guests = 17), followed by a blank copy to print.
  • Comes as a PDF in US Letter and A4 that you fill in by hand, with nothing to sign up for.

Want the whole month worked out?

This sheet is one hosting night, worked out by hand. The full planner is an Excel and Google Sheets workbook for the whole month: enter each night's menu and guests once, and it works out every night's head count and scales each dish to that table. It builds the shopping list for any ten-day block, sorted by store section and net of what's on hand. It schedules which freezer-friendly dishes to cook ahead, by their cook-by date, and flags any hosting night with a course still uncovered. It also holds 36 starter dishes, goals, daily reflections, a giving plan, an Eid countdown, a kids' chart and 14 undated print-and-fill pages in Letter and A4, with a fictional household filled in throughout.

A one-time purchase with no subscription. It's undated, so next year you change one date and plan again.

A household planning sheet only. It sets no prayer or fasting times, gives no religious rulings, and leaves every timing and practice for your family to fill in. Every name in the example is fictional. Free to print and to pass on; please don't resell it.
